7 Days, 7 Stories - Days 1 & 2
May. 24th, 2021 09:28 pmI've decided to unofficially participate in GYWO's 7 Days, 7 Stories this year. I hope to use the challenge to draft out vignettes for my Baker's Dozen collection, which I've been feeling a bit guilty about abandoning right after I started it. I did manage the rough draft of one vignette yesterday, but for today I ended up writing a triple drabble treat for Multifandom Drabble, which absolutely still counts.

GYWO 7 Days, 7 Stories - Day 5
Apr. 24th, 2020 10:18 pmToday, I used the prompt on the event post for a very short story. Leave it to me to turn a quote from Yogi Berra into something dark.

GYWO 7 Days, 7 Stories - Day 4
Apr. 23rd, 2020 11:24 pmI missed Day 3, but I'm back, and riding my raft to Rarepair Isle for a little FFX Lulu/Luzzu.
This pairing necessarily plays around with canon a bit. Firstly, by following the scenario where Gatta dies at Operation Mi'ihen instead of Luzzu (RIP Whiniest Crusader; at least you weren't cut in half). Secondly, and most importantly, by ignoring Eternal Calm/FFX-2's pairing of Wakka and Lulu. That just never sat right with me. I like to think of them as being nothing more than good friends, so you don't have to worry about a jealous Wakka stomping through this story -- they both simply work on establishing their own lives after their journey in FFX, and Lulu and Luzzu both have a lot of grief and guilt to sort out, alone and, possibly, together.

The remainder of the story is still a mess of awkward sentences and far too many bracketed terms and sections that I'll have to go back and rework. But, hey, it's another story that I didn't have just a few days ago, so there's that! :)

Apr. 20th, 2020 11:14 pmI'm off to a pretty rough start, and cutting the deadline a bit close, but I managed to get the shell of a story written out. It will need a ton of editing before I'm comfortable sharing the whole thing, but here's a little snippet:
