deemoyza: (Red [Transistor fanfiction])
I've been working on this piece off and on for a few months, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. A Country reunion inspired by the statues on Red's Fairview Bridge.

I finished my fandoodle! Slightly antagonistic coffee-shop AU, anyone?

I really don't know how my brain works, or why it dreams up these scenarios, but here we are. XD I hope you like it! :)

These colors filled her heart, and broke it...Alien, unknowable – yet, somehow, deeply, achingly, familiar.

A little fanart for a drabble of the same name.

Okay, so maybe I was mulling over their dynamic a little bit too much. ;)

I had initially thought up a silly little comic spoofing Dexter's Laboratory, but that's a bit out of my skillset at the moment. Someday, maybe. Until then, just a little image, to satisfy the jokester of a muse in my brain.

It's finished! To the best of my artistic ability, that is! I had fun learning how to shade and color and use layers to not screw up the entire thing at once. The coloring job is still quite flat (also, HOW DO FOLDS WORK???), but one step at a time. :)

Now, I present to you, "Our Lady of Cloudbank":

I'm also going to throw this up on Tumblr in a bit because I have no shame. Like I said, this was a ton of fun, but also a lot of work (mostly due to lack of experience). It also took up far too much real estate in my head; now that it's done, I can get back to focusing on writing. :)

Since I first played the game, I've been fascinated by this design on some of the windows in Transistor:

It's most notably seen in Fairview, but it also appears at the Empty Set. While it is most likely just a very pretty motif, my overeager little brain can't help inventing stories for it. Perhaps it is the personification of a virtue, or of Cloudbank, itself. Or perhaps it has a spiritual connotation: I can't help noticing the plant life in the clouds, and the city inverted beneath. A personification of the Country, perhaps? Or of some sort of deity? There's no indication of what religion looks like in Cloudbank, but Wave Tennegan having been a vicar suggests that it's not entirely absent.

While I'm definitely mulling over interpretations and their implications for headcanons (and possibly future use in fics), I decided to pursue one interpretation in visual form. I present to you the WIP of "Our Lady of Cloudbank":

I have to fix the dress, color it (arrgh!!!), and add a background, but I'm pretty satisfied with the way it's turning out. Though I do not consider myself an artist, per se, I do so enjoy dabbling in it when the mood strikes. :) I finally got a small tablet to work with, and learning how to use drawing/editing software is really fun (though a bit frustrating at times). I don't know how long this will take me to finish, but I'm decently proud of the progress I've made so far. :D
