- I wrote a little over 1k for a new Transistor fic.

That's all. What is time, again? And how does it work? I never seem to have enough of it.

- I'm scrambling to finish a treat for S4S because I like the pairing and the request. But I recently read over what I have so far, and damn, it is cheesy! Cheesier than my main assignment, which is already shamefully ooey-gooey stuff. I've got a few days; I'll see what I can do.

And I already made a stupid little banner for it, too! (I love thinking up fic covers/banners; I just don't have the time to make them as frequently as I once did.)

Not much to report this week, just 2.8k words to my S4S treat. I really need to get on the ball with my assignment, and my first Baker's Dozen vignette.

 My writing comes in waves, it seems, so after my big week last week, a...not-so-big week this time.  But I did write two more days!

- Editing my Chocolate Box fic added nearly 400 words to my yearly count.  (And the recipient liked the fic!  Yay!)

- And I wrote another little 3-sentence ficlet, "Care to Dance?" featuring, again, Quistis/Rinoa.  I have become intrigued with this ship and their dynamic.

- And I wrote over a thousand words that I can't count for my Smut4Smut letter.  Yes, I've joined a smutfic exchange.  I feel a bit awkward, to be honest, more about the fact that my letter and signup reveal a lot more about me than I'm used to sharing, than about actually writing my fic for the exchange.  I'm sure the feeling will pass as soon as assignments go out.

Another Wednesday with no writing to report. :( On the bright side, I've finally decided on a prompt for Press Start and plotted it out! It was strange; I was comfortable with the prompts, but I just couldn't zero in on a story for any of them for the longest time. I'm going to be trying something a little different from my usual fare for my assignment, and I'm looking forward to it. There are also a couple of prompts I'm eyeing for treats, so I hope I have enough time to get around to them.

The Successor Challenge started up on Tumblr, but I'm not sure if I'll participate. I've mentioned it before, but last year's challenge felt so cold and impersonal (there wasn't even a masterpost at the end!), almost perfunctory, and that kind of soured me on the whole thing. :( But I found a scrap of a story from last year that I didn't get around to, and since the challenge simply includes all previous themes, I can try to polish it up if I have time.

But that's another thing that's strange: I only became active in the FF8 fandom on Tumblr at the beginning of 2018, but that was long enough to see it wither to a shell of its former self. I really do miss it -- the fics, the art, and especially the meta -- and I think that has had an effect on my motivation to write for the fandom. (That, and I seem to have lost my grasp on the characters' personalities.) I will come back around (I still have stories to tell, after all!); I just need to refamiliarize myself with how I feel about the game and the characters, first.

I may not have a word count to share today, but at least I have direction, which is more than I've had in weeks! I'm looking forward to making some progress in the coming days.
