deemoyzaI was watching a SaGa Frontier walkthrough on YouTube this morning, and I found out that Fuse's Emilia scenario has an alternate ending! In this ending, the game explicitly mentions that the Joker mask is sentient and has possessed Ren. Emilia rushes into the chapel, ready to off the Joker, but Fuse stops her and they fight Diva, as usual. After the battle, Ren wakes up as himself again, Fuse realizes that he got the mask due to the mix-up with the evidence bags, and Emilia realizes that this whole mess was Fuse's fault.
And she lets him have it.
With her fists.
The ending image is largely the same, but now features Fuse with bandages on his face from Emilia's beat-down.
This is the kind of spark I was hoping to see from her throughout her quest. I'm glad it made it into the game somewhere, but couldn't we have gotten more along the way?
I feel a bit better about her story now. But I'm still gonna write that fic!
