Well, hell.
Jun. 30th, 2020 11:08 pmJune practically flew by for me, and, sadly, I got absolutely no writing done during it. I spent most of the month fretting over Yahtzee prompts, and, once that event ended, fretting over WIPs I haven't touched in months. I want to resume the current fic in my Esthar Chronicles series -- I already have a decent outline -- but I just can't seem to get started. The closest I came to anything resembling progress was wasting an entire afternoon trying to come up with names for two towns, one of which is only mentioned in passing. :\
Fingers crossed that July will be better. I went ahead and set my goal for Camp NaNo, in hopes that might spur my creativity past the self-doubt that has crippled it for weeks. I'm also lightly considering signing up for the Press Start exchange (now that I'm familiar with more than one or two fandoms on the list!), but considering how my planned treat for Chocolate Box never came to fruition, it's more of a wait-and-see-how-I-feel-about-it situation at the moment. I've got a few days.
Meanwhile, I'm still playing Animal Crossing, still enjoying it immensely, and still eating my words from earlier posts. I thought I was fine with my current village population size, then Maggie visited the campsite, and I just had to invite her to stay. Some strategic tree-transplanting made room for Maggie's house, and I realize now that careful planning can allow me to eventually get a full ten villagers with no real aesthetic damage to the island.
Also, swimming starts on Friday! Looking forward to it! :D
I think these little bits of pixels are the only things keeping me sane, at the moment.

Date: 2020-07-02 12:11 pm (UTC)Best of luck with Camp NaNo and/or Press Start if you do sign up!
AHHHH ANIMAL CROSSING 😍 I can't wait to jump in that water tomorrow!! Just looked up Maggie - what a cutie!! So glad you were able to relocate some trees to accommodate her. I see so many people online wanting more buildings/shops/whatever for New Horizons and I'm over here like, "...no. Please don't. I don't know where to put anything."

Date: 2020-07-03 10:05 pm (UTC)Also, it's my first fic exchange and I'm super excited. :D
I've also seen people online asking for more buildings and services on their Animal Crossing island, and my reaction is pretty much the same as yours. I'm enjoying the island life, and being disconnected from the bustle of cities and towns is part of its charm. :)
And swimming is so incredibly relaxing! I've already sunk quite a bit of time into searching for sea creatures. The museum's aquariums are looking livelier!
(I also realize now that I've kind of slacked off in posting about my island. I'll have to fix that, soon!)
