Six Sentence Sunday - Post six sentences from whatever you're working on.
Emmy didn't recognize the driver. He was one of the new crop of SeeDs: specialized, detached, exclusively electronically-educated. That seemed to be the goal Cid was moving toward, these past few years. He slashed the library budget at each quarterly review, as Garden transitioned to computer-based courses and research databases. Students more proficient in technology than Emmy began taking over library duties, until she and her two friends were left with little to do besides dust and rearrange the shelves of books that were rapidly becoming obsolete.
She understood the rationale, from a financial perspective—it saved Garden money, and Garden was concerned with churning out fighters, not thinkers—but she couldn't help but feel discarded, like an out-of-date atlas, left to molder away with her beloved books, both she and them relics of a bygone age.
Since I'm technically working on my Chocolate Box fic at the moment, and can't share that, have a bit of an FF8 Library Girl fic I've been picking away at. :)
