- Writerly insecurity strikes again. I was just browsing one of my OTP tags on AO3 and saw some lovely fic summaries, and am now convinced that because I can't write something like those, I can't write anything. Grr. Gonna have to wait out this bout.
- I am making a valiant effort at clearing out my Tumblr drafts folder. I've got to set up a queue for one or two more days, and then I think I'm good. I've been feeling a little overwhelmed by the site itself, recently, and probably should take a break from it, save for answering the asks and prompts that have been languishing in my inbox there.
- Speaking of overflowing inboxes, I have a backlog of AO3 comments going back nearly two years, and I am definitely not proud of that! I just get a bit flustered (in a good way!) when people are kind enough to comment on my works, and somehow, a "thanks for reading; I'm glad you liked it!" comment doesn't feel like enough of a response to their kind words. 💕
- I watched a few videos of people's contraptions in Tears of the Kingdom, and promptly got sucked right down a Zelda rabbit hole on YouTube. This led to me finding one of the most impressive fanworks I've seen, a multi-part movie (you'd have to describe it that way, at this point), picking up from when Link returns to Hyrule from Termina and attempting to bridge (as best as I can tell) the story between OOT/MM and Twilight Princess. I'm not very knowledgeable about the Zelda timeline, so I might have that part wrong, but it's still incredibly involving.
It's at five parts right now, with more promised. I hope it continues!
Incidentally, this has finally brought me around to understanding the more, uh, intriguing aspects of Ganondorf.

Date: 2023-06-07 06:30 am (UTC)- Funnily enough, I just transferred a crazy number of drafts to my queue tonight. Must be something in the air. XD I hope a break brings you some relief if you decide to take one! 🤞
- Oh my god the eternal struggle, right!? Ya absolutely love receiving and reading comments, but shut down trying to think of a good reply because how many ways can you say "thank you" before it comes across as disingenuous?
To be honest, that struggle takes far too much of my time and energy when I post pages of my K thing. I've been making a conscious effort to just bite down and reply, telling myself that even a cookie cutter response still genuinely lets them know that I appreciate them. It's still a bit uncomfortable, but I feel better after it's done. Some of the comments beg for a specific natural reply, and I go off on those, but I don't go out of my way to force that. Net positive for all parties. Ymmv, of course! 😅
- I skimmed through to part five, but Gannondorf's self-awareness and wish to break Hyrule's good-vs-evil cycle already sold me. I'm glad to hear there's more coming. :O

Date: 2023-06-15 10:29 pm (UTC)- That Tumblr drafts folder can be both a blessing and a curse. It's great for when I don't have the time (or inclination) to tag things as I should, but it can become overwhelming pretty darn quickly. I have been taking a break from Tumblr besides a cursory scroll-and-like every now and then, so that's helping with the draft folder situation. But mostly, I've been avoiding Tumblr because of my unanswered asks/prompts waiting in my inbox. 😩 I will get around to them, but I can't say when.
- And the same as above goes for comments. There's only so many ways to say "thank you," but you're right, just saying it is better than saying nothing at all, and clears out the backlog very quickly! Now, just to get around to doing that...
- Glad you enjoyed what you watched of Hero's Purpose! The characterization of Ganondorf is what really drew me in. I don't mind that he's the series' Big Bad, but I love that he's finally getting the nuanced take he deserves. I was even moved to sympathy for him a few times. This will be an interesting story to watch play out.
