deemoyzaYikes, it's been awhile since I posted here! I've been keeping busy, though unfortunately, not with writing. I have, however, been flexing my wimpy little art muscle, trying to build it up. As part of my single-minded obsession effort to make my own little zine, I've taken to illustrating some of my Blue Castle fics. They're no masterpieces, but I'm proud of what I came up with. Besides, the rough-around-the-edges nature of these fits the DIY spirit of zines! :)
The front of the candy shop from "A Token of Appreciation"
A scene from "Keep Reading". (Who am I kidding? This is practically the whole fic.)
She still needs a background, but I'm thinking of using this picture either as a filler or for "Queen of the Wild Places."
I'm all right with how this turned out, but there was something special about the original sketch that I simply could not capture during clean-up.
Three illustrations done, two to go! These were the more complicated ideas I had, so I'm glad to have gotten them out of the way first! :)

Date: 2023-03-20 02:13 am (UTC)I wonder if the charm of pencil sketches is the freedom in their creation, when you're just beginning to rough out an idea, as opposed to clean-up, when the details become more important (and pesky!). Anyhow, I'm having a lot of fun with this project; it's refreshing to work in a different medium from time to time.
