2023 Writing Log, Entry 1

deemoyzaAfter trying and failing to maintain a weekly update schedule for my writing progress, I've decided to take a page from rynling's book and make my updates more diary-style, with entries only when they're relevant.
(Of course, I have a very loose definition of "relevant," so expect to see me going off-topic frequently. ;) )
- I did get some words down, the first since September! Were they in service of anything good? Hell, no! It was basically some vaguely-forbidden-sexytimes between characters with a sibling-like relationship who are not actually related--fine, it was Squall/Ellone smut. I know, I know. 😬 The idea popped into my head unbidden, and equally fascinated and discomfited me, but I will spare others from the machinations of my hormone-addled brain.
It added a little over 1,800 words to my yearly count, though. And I never even actually got to the sex scene.
- In more wholesome Squall-related news, I applied to the Squinoa zine that's being run right now, and was accepted. Unfortunately, I have no idea what I'm doing at the moment, or what my creative output will be on any given day, so I politely declined. It's still nice to know they would have liked me to contribute, especially given the state of the FF8 fandom in recent years.
That's about it for now. My writing muscle is indeed underworked, and I need to get it back up to snuff slowly. Words are words, even if they're part of a very messed-up story!
