For the last Weekly Writing Update of 2021, I have...no actual writing progress to share. But I thought I'd take the opportunity to gently blather on about some creative things (writing and otherwise) I'd like to accomplish, or at least make some headway on, in the coming year. Not concrete goals, per se (I've learned my lesson!), but just some projects that I'm excited about, or projects that haven't been getting the attention they deserve of late.

- First and foremost, Yuletide comments! Finally write mine and respond to those I've received. This will get done before the end of the year, though!

- On a related note, respond to my AO3 comments. I have unaddressed comments dating back to the Press Start exchange, and I feel so awkward about it. It always takes me much longer to compose a simple thank-you than it does to write a whole fic, and time has not been cooperative. I hope to tackle the backlog over the weekend.

- Tumblr prompts! I have two asks in my inbox from June. I don't know where the intervening six months went, but I really need to get those written and posted. Once again, time!!! >:(

- Finish my multi-chapter WIPs. I currently have four? on AO3 that have stalled out. They're all plotted, so it's time to get them written and posted. This will be taking priority for me next year (see, I can be an optimist!).

- Exorcise various plot bunnies. A continuous process.

- Get back into drawing, specifically to finish my Sayonara Wild Hearts crossover series. I think I'll start over with it (I've only done one), now that I feel a bit more comfortable using a drawing tablet.

- And I managed to pick up another OTP a few weeks ago when I read The Blue Castle, and they practically demand to be drawn. Written about, too!

(In personal OTP rankings, Valancy/Barney does not replace Red/Blue from Transistor, but rather, stands beside it. It has pretty much the same energy: scrappy/scruffy guy being a Massive Sweetheart to his very spirited girlfriend/wife. I have a Type, and I am not ashamed of it! :D )

- Manage exchanges better than I did this year. I have an assignment for the Rarepair Madness exchange due next month, but after that, I'm scaling back on signups. Chocolate Box, Press Start, and Yuletide are definitely on my schedule, but aside from those exchanges, I think I'll limit my participation to of the lurk-and-treat variety.

- One thing I'd really like to do, but I might not get around to in the coming year, is to create my own little personal PDF fic zine. I have several stories that form loose series, and it would be fun to compile them into a cute printable file that people can download if they like. This will take a bit more planning, but it's fun to think about.

It's quite a plateful, but I don't expect to finish everything in the coming year. If I clear even a couple of these off the list, I'll feel pretty darn accomplished! :D
