Weekly(?) Writing (and Stuff) Update
Jun. 17th, 2021 03:03 amIt appears that I currently require external motivation to get any writing done. I haven't written at all for the past two weeks, but now I have two exchange assignments (with another coming up shortly) and a couple of requests for a Tumblr fic meme to get to, and I have managed to squeak out a few hundred words in the past few days.
The past few days that have not been kind, unfortunately. Not only are we currently under a heatwave here, but one of my teeth decided that now was the best time to act up. I got an emergency appointment with the dentist yesterday to find out that my root canal, which I'd had done back in 1999, had failed, allowing bacteria into the gum and causing a painful infection. The good news was that the endodontist was in the office and could squeeze my retreatment in; the bad news was that I had to drive back to the dentist in 116-degree heat to get the process done. My car's A/C works fine under normal conditions, but all it could manage after sitting in the parking lot in these conditions was tepid air.
Anyhow, I survived, and the only pain I have now is from all the poking and prodding they did to my gums, for which I have prescription painkillers and antibiotics. So, with that little drama out of the way, hopefully I can a be a bit more productive for the rest of the week.
Statistics below.
Total words written this week: 990
