Weekly Writing Update
Oct. 28th, 2020 03:00 pmWhew, that weekend recharge was apparently what I needed. I finished the draft of the little fic I was working on. It ended up being about 3.5k words; I just need to do a bit of editing, and I hope to be able to post it soon. It's another venture into writing in another fandom, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
In other writing news, I signed up for Yuletide and I'm really happy with my assignment. I've been brainstorming ideas, and I'm excited to get started!
I also, in my infinite wisdom, signed up for the Supergiant Secret Santa exchange on Tumblr, the assignment for which is due less than a week after Yuletide's. But this one definitely feels a bit more casual, and I'm sure I can create a nice little fic in time (especially if matched on Transistor--SO MANY PLOT BUNNIES!).
Elsewhere in Fic Land, I've been going through some of my older fics posted to FFN and AO3 and realizing that they could do with another editing pass and a little bit of tightening up. (There is a slumber party-esque scene in one of them that simply must go! Whatever was I thinking?!) It's strange; the fic that is most in need of this treatment is the one I was the most proud of, for much of the past two years. But it also included a lot of firsts for me, and there will always be little missteps in those circumstances. We'll see when I can get around to tinkering with it.
For now, though, it's editing and brainstorming time.
