2020 Yuletide Letter
Oct. 20th, 2020 03:26 amDear Yuletide Writer,
First of all, thank you for taking the time to write something for me! I'm very excited to be participating in my first Yuletide this year, and I'm looking forward to what you come up with. :) Below, you will find a rundown of my general likes and DNWs, as well as fandom-specific prompts and suggestions to give you a general idea of the kinds of stories I like. (Please don't feel that you need to address any of the prompts directly; rather, think of them as guidelines and jumping-off points.) Whatever you choose to write, I hope you have fun! :)

Characters requested: The Kid, Zia, Zulf
Feel free to write any or all of the requested characters.
Fandom DNW: Romantic relationships between any of these characters.
These characters are all quite mysterious, their lives before the Calamity shaped by different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. It is interesting to see how these factors affect their observations, relationships, and decisions as the only survivors of the Calamity, and how these factors inform the tiny society they build in its wake.
( Prompts/Suggestions )
Characters requested: Kara, Will
Feel free to write either or both of the requested characters.
My first real fandom! I was obsessed with this game for several years back in junior high, to the point where I even began drafting a script for a musical adaptation. XD Looking back at it now, it's obvious that the plot threads don't always weave together tightly, but that just leaves more room for fanfic possibilities! I particularly enjoyed the characters of Will and Kara, especially because of how sharply their personalities contrast with one another, and I liked seeing Kara become something less of a spoiled princess as the game went on and she became aware of the world around her, including its uglier aspects.
( Prompts/Suggestions )
Characters requested: Vagabond Girl, Ti'zo, Jodariel
Feel free to write any or all of the requested characters, and to include other nominated characters as secondary characters in the story.
So much of my enjoyment of this game came from the characters -- their stories and interactions with one another. I'm interested in stories that flesh out these characters' histories or their present observations or relationships, and what the future might hold for them, whether or not they return to the Commonwealth.
( Prompts/Suggestions )
Characters Requested: Red, Subject|The Boxer, Amelia Garbur
Feel free to write any or all of the requested characters.
Fandom DNW: Recursion
We get such a small snapshot of the world and characters of Transistor, that there are so many stories left to tell! I'm a total sucker for character backstories, and I love getting glimpses into what their personal lives must have been like. I'm also very interested in Cloudbank society: how it worked, where it faltered, who it privileged and who it disenfranchised. Boxer's existence alone hints at socioeconomic disparity in this supposed utopia, and I'm curious to see how the characters occupied their respective places in this society, and how it influenced their opportunities, choices, and personal outlooks.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this letter, and thanks again for taking the time and effort to write something for this challenge. I really appreciate it, and I'm looking forward to reading the end result! :)
