2022 Retrospective Stuff

2022 was definitely a far less productive year than usual for me, but let's see what did happen, creative- and journal-wise.
Fics written: 11 (5 Transistor, 5 Blue Castle, and 1 Final Fantasy VIII)
Longest fic this year: Serendipity, or Just Dumb Luck (5,942 words)
Shortest fic this year: Good and Morning, tied at 200 words. This was completely intentional.
Most kudos'd fic this year: Bracken and Fir (67 kudos) Also my most commented-on this year, at 10 comment threads.
I was thinking of what other stats I could add to this, and considered adding my favorite fic of the year, but I found that I can't pick just one! It seems that, despite not writing as many words as usual, I really enjoy a lot of what I wrote this year! But, if anyone cares for some highlights, my top 5, in no particular order:
- Gutted (Transistor)
- With Armor Spent (Transistor)
- Serendipity, or Just Dumb Luck (Transistor)
- A Token of Appreciation (The Blue Castle)
- All the Light and Shadow of It (The Blue Castle)
This will be rather sparse.
January: The light of the late-afternoon sun slanted through the trees, plunging the path before them into a golden twilight. (Bracken and Fir)
February: He hadn't been thinking of Valancy during that trip to the Port, not really. (A Token of Appreciation)
March:She can't control when inspiration strikes, though she can mildly curse it when it finds her sated and warm in the arms of the man she loves, the handwraps he hadn't taken the time to remove the night before deliciously rough against her skin. (Morning)
April: (none)
May: (none)
June: Red never missed a scheduled rehearsal, and nothing, not even a fundraiser for the Traverson arts program, could change that. (Serendipity, or Just Dumb Luck)
July: He should be happy, he knew. (All the Light and Shadow of It)
August: (none)
September: (none)
October: (none)
November: (none)
December: (none)
Fanfic posts excluded.
January: Here we go, 2021 retrospective meme time!
February: Still struggling with getting words down.
March: It's been a ridiculous couple of weeks, and I didn't get any writing done. (Are you picking up on a theme, here? XP)
April: I met with my new therapist yesterday, and within ten minutes, she said, "We need to get you a better job."
May: I've been seeing the First Lines Meme making the rounds on my Network page again, and because I am basically an ego with legs who never misses a chance to blather about her writing, I figured, why not? ;)
June: It shouldn't have been that hard.
July: Yikes, it's been a while since I've posted here!
August: Telenovelas just keep getting weirder. (This was the post about Naked Chainsaw Man, whose image I feel compelled to grace DW with again. #sorrynotsorry >:3)
September: Is it just me, or is Wordpress incredibly unintuitive?
October: Oops, now y'all know how old I am!
November: I had an appointment in the heart of downtown yesterday, and managed to get myself Completely Lost.
December: Job acquired!
A rough year, but not all bad. Here's hoping things continue to get better, for all of us, in the year to come! 🥂
