30 Days, 30 Songs - Day 7
Sep. 27th, 2022 11:13 am7. A song that makes you sad cry
(Changing this from "sad" to "cry," because while I deliberately try to avoid songs that make me sad (gotta watch my depression, after all!), there are quite a few songs poignant enough to make me cry big, ugly tears.)
"Mother Earth and Father Time" from Charlotte's Web (1973), sung by Debbie Reynolds
It's a beautiful song celebrating life and nature, but the understanding that we're all just here for a short time in relation to the Earth and the cosmos gives the song a sweet melancholy. And don't even get me started on the reprise Charlotte sings near the end of the movie. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
