I'm keeping my challenge pretty simple, and very low-key: yearlong bingo! ... Using the same card(s), tailored to your personal writing preferences, all year. XD I generated a couple bingo cards a few weeks ago, in search of inspiration, and I think they would be fun to work on throughout the year.
| Sensory | Soulmates | Dawn | Spiritualism | Curses |
| Time travel | Nightmares | Fortune-teller | Aura | Hell |
| Sky | Primitive | FREE SPACE | Out of Body | Sea |
| Family | Abduction | Cyborg | Witches | Dark |
| Hiding | Panic | Chains | Will-o-the-wisp | Astral projection |
| High Fantasy | Dark Fantasy | Romantic Fantasy | Fairytale Fantasy | Heroic Fantasy |
| High Fantasy | Magical Realism | Fantasy of Manners | Mythic Fiction (Fantasy) | Urban Fantasy |
| Historical Fantasy | Sword and Sorcery | FREE SPACE | Mythic Fiction (Fantasy) | Low Fantasy |
| Alternate History (Fantasy) | Alternate History (Fantasy) | Heroic Fantasy | Fantasy of Manners | Contemporary Fantasy |
| Superhero Fantasy | Superhero Fantasy | Urban Fantasy | Low Fantasy | Erotic Fantasy |
(The second card had fewer options than squares, that's why there are a few duplicates. I'm not complaining. ;) )
I will, of course, be using these in tandem, marking off whatever elements/subgenres I happen to write, regardless if those criteria are met in the same story. While I hope to get at least a few traditional bingos, ideally, I'd like to try for at least one blackout.
This should prove very interesting, particularly on the subgenre card; to get a blackout, or even four corners, I'm going to have to step waaay out of my comfort zone! ^^; But that's kind of the point: a low-pressure way to challenge myself throughout the year, and hopefully, expand my writing horizons. :D
